Elaine owns and operates Del Valle Productions and Casting--a full service production and casting company.
Featured alongside Michelle Obama in the 2018 PBS Documentary, aptly titled, "Beating The Odds"--Elaine Del Valle was born and bred in the crime capital of New York City--Brownsville Brooklyn. She studied acting at Carnegie Hall under the legendary Wynn Handman--While there Elaine chronicled her autobiographical coming-of-age story as a one woman play, aptly titled BROWNSVILLE BRED--Landing off Broadway, The New York Times hailed, "From Girlhood Trials to Onstage Triumph”.
Ironically, the success of her play lead to her career in casting, when a commercial ad agency producer (after attending the play) approached her, “I want to work with you every day--I can’t hire an actress every day, what else do you do?” To which Elaine replied, “What do you need?” His answer was “Casting” and set Elaine on a journey that she never anticipated.
In 2009, Del Valle began casting for Spanish language national network campaigns, soon carving a niche in diversity markets. Her casting has since expanded across all platforms to include stage, radio, animation, television and feature films. Her clients include some of the biggest ad agencies in the world, television networks, and independent producers.
Inspired by the diversity in entertainment, Elaine’s production company continues its mission to ensure equal representation in front of and behind the camera.
Elaine’s production company has since cast and produced over 50 shorts, and 2015, Elaine became the first person to license an interstitial series (Gran’pa Knows Best) to the HBO Network.
In 2016, Del Valle received the TELLY award for her co-production of "THE SMALLEST STEP" (a PBS/World Channel short film series).
Her directorial debut in a short film, "Final Decision" (which she also wrote, cast and produced) screened at over a dozen film festivals, winning several awards, including a BEST NARRATIVE DIRECTOR award.
In 2017, Elaine produced and directed a short documentary “TAGGED”--Filmed entirely on a mobile device, the five minute investigative journey was featured in (Industry Trade Magazine) "Ad Age" for its innovative use of film on a mobile phone.
In 2018, while directing her second short film, Elaine was selected as one of nine directors to partake in the Sundance Short Narrative Film Lab (Miami). Her film-ME 3.769 (which she also wrote, cast and produced) was supported by a grant from Sundance Institute with additional support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. ME 3.769 is slated to air on HBO in August 2019.
Elaine recently completed the Sundance 12-week screen writing intensive with the aim of adapting her “Brownsville Bred” as her first feature film (as a writer/director).
